In The News: Ghost Spotted at Haunted Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield in Kennesaw, GA

17 12 2008

I found this interesting article a while ago that I felt was appropriate to share on our blog. This is from Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield in Kennesaw, GA (a few miles from haunted Cheatham Hill Battlefield in Kennesaw). A man and his son were driving down the road one night around the mountain when a man on horseback ran across the road directly infront of him, which they believe to be a Civil War ghost.

One Cobb County, Georgia man says that he had a brush with what may have been a real ghost near Kennesaw Mountain earlier this month.

The man, who doesn’t want to be identified, said he and his teenage son were driving through Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield the night of October 8 when they spotted something about to cross the road in front of their car.

Both Civil More..War buffs, they say the rider appeared to be a Union Army cavalry officer complete with a saber in his hand.

This is neat because it puts some belief in what we observe at the Allatoona Battlefield Pass. I hope to investigate the site sometime but I hear it’s extremely difficult to get permission to, let alone sneak in.

I remember a video that was on 11 Alive about the ghost rider seen by a man and his teen age son. (at Kennesaw Mtn.) Could you please send the video. I can’t locate it I have ridden my horse there many times and it is true that you have to cross the highway on horseback to ride the entire trail. THANKS J. West
